INDIANAPOLIS – November 23, 2020: Pondurance, a leader in Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, today announced the appointment of Mariana Swann as Program Director, Legal and Insurance. In her new role, Swann oversees and expands Pondurance’s relationships with security teams and executive stakeholders focused on cyber insurance, governance, compliance and other cyber risk issues with legal and regulatory ramifications. Her arrival adds further experience and relationships driving Pondurance’s assessment and compliance services across industries and the company’s growing role in providing digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) services.

“The depth of Pondurance’s MDR platform and our advisory professionals’ experience in healthcare, retail, and other highly regulated industries make us an ideal strategic advisor and security provider for companies approaching cyber risk with an eye for what needs to happen before, during and after cybersecurity incidents,” Swann said. “Security assessments, operations, and measurement used to be separate activities, but the speed and stakes of cyber risk today demand a continuous, integrated approach to understanding your assets, potential impacts, security performance and how all this affects legal and insurance stakes. Pondurance is ideally situated to deliver this integrated, real-time visibility to our customers at an unprecedented time of change through its’ MDR and Managed Security Services (MSS).”

“Legal and Insurance firms need trusted partners they can go to in times of crises that can immediately bring incident response talent and complementary tech allowing for lateral movement analysis and containing further breach impact.  They also need the option of a partner they can work within pre- and post- breach advisory capacity to reduce risk and impact as well as avoid regulatory compliance issues.  Most of all, they need a partner that doesn’t gouge the customer in a moment of stress and uncertainty,” said Pondurance CEO Doug Howard. “Mariana’s history in formulating easy to understand Services packaging and relationships with security, risk, legal and insurance stakeholders make her an ideal addition to our team.”

Before joining RSA Security, Swann served as Principal in the Global Cybersecurity Practice of CSC (now DXC Technology). She previously led security and compliance services and programs at VBrick Systems, Carpathia Hosting and UltraDNS (now NeuStar). Swann additionally served on the leadership team of the Innovative Solutions Consortium (ISC), a non-profit organization uniting government, industry, academia and private citizens to solve hard problems and make the world a better and safer place.
