For this month’s spotlight, we spoke with Amy Booth, who started her career as a marketing intern and has transitioned to a Marketing Coordinator at Pondurance. Amy was drawn to this internship because of her interest in cybersecurity and how important it is in today’s digital landscape.

What interested you in working as an intern for a cybersecurity company?

I was interested in working as an intern with Pondurance because cybersecurity is becoming more and more relevant in everyday life. It is important to be aware of what you do on the internet no matter what your role is or who you work for. This opportunity was exciting to me because I am able to work with many different aspects of marketing and learn about the evolving cybersecurity landscape.

What is a typical day like for you?

I typically start my day checking email and keeping things organized. I check my to-do list and prioritize what needs to be done for that day and go from there. I attend various meetings throughout the day to check in with the marketing teams where we talk through current and new projects.

Some projects I have been working on are setting up email templates, creating social media imagery, scheduling social media posts, and working in the back end of our website. I also am responsible for importing leads into Salesforce as they come in. I would say that everyday is different because of all the various projects I get to work on.

What tools and techniques have you learned that are most valuable to you?

I expanded on my time management and prioritization skills. I learned how to use new software like Salesforce Pardot, WordPress, and Adobe InDesign. These are foundational tools that I will be able to use wherever I go in my career. I also learned the importance of keeping information and data secure for not only myself but others as well.

How is the overall marketing internship experience?

It has been great! In just my first month as an intern, I learned so much in all aspects of marketing. I have been exposed to many facets of digital marketing, marketing operations, website creation, public relations, and more! I am excited to see what is in store for the next few months.

Anything else you want to add?

Everyone I have met at Pondurance has been so nice and helpful throughout this experience!

After a great few months, I have joined the company as a Marketing Coordinator! I am excited to start my career in the cybersecurity industry and learn more about marketing at a fantastic company.
