Hosted by the ISAO Standards Organization—a non-governmental group dedicated to facilitating cyber security information sharing—the inaugural International Information Sharing Conference takes place October 31 and November 1 in Washington, D.C. Nick Sturgeon, security operations center director at Pondurance, is slated to participate on a conference panel November 1. The panel will focus on the challenges and opportunities of information sharing in state and local government.

The ISAO states on its conference landing page: “It is important we take the time to recognize those individuals and companies who have demonstrated the highest standards of professional competence and selflessness and have contributed significantly to the promotion of the information sharing ecosystem.”

Before joining the Pondurance team, Sturgeon worked in the Indiana Office of Technology’s Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IN-ISAC), where he served as the manger for both the IN-ISAC and the State’s SOC. Prior to his work with the Indiana Office of Technology, he spent eight years as an Indiana State Police trooper.

Sturgeon echoes the organizers’ enthusiasm for highlighting the importance of information sharing: “I am extremely excited to be presenting on the ‘State and Local Information Sharing Experience’ panel. Being able to share my knowledge and experience in state government information sharing is really important to me. I am grateful to the Information Sharing and Analysis Organization-Standards Organization (ISAO-SO) for giving me this opportunity, and I will proudly represent not only Pondurance but the entire state of Indiana.”
