We’re excited to announce that we’ve hired Rachel Sitarz to lead our Security Operations Center (SOC) team. Rachel joins us as a current Cyber Forensics PhD candidate in the Purdue Polytechnic Institute, where she obtained her undergraduate and master’s degree as well. Before returning to her Alma Mater, Rachel worked for the Indiana State Police Department as a criminal intelligence analyst – with a specific focus on crimes against children.
Now, In her new role at Pondurance, Rachel oversees day-to-day SOC operations, and will specifically focus on advancing the SOC’s around the clock coverage as well as enhancing Pondurance’s overall threat-hunting capabilities. Rachel will also be responsible for continuing to cultivate Pondurance’s talented SOC team, beyond roping in additional team members. She intends to lead her team by example, and is a firm believer in the importance of teamwork. “Each person brings an entirely unique skill set. Innovation is huge, and I intend to amplify what each individual member brings to the team.”
Beyond the world of cyber security, Rachel is an avid lover of animals. In addition to caring for her 8 pets, she plays an integral part in the Shiba Inu rescue initiatives. Her aid does not end there, though, as she donates her volunteer time and fundraising capabilities to other various animal rescue programs across Indiana. When she is not tending to her passion for animals, she is tending to her passion for fitness. A lifelong and D1 collegiate swimmer, Rachel also pioneered Lafayette’s Masters Swimming Program.
“The cyber security industry is ever-evolving and very exciting. This displays a vast array of opportunities, especially for women. It is exciting to be at the forefront of this innovation.” We are thrilled to have Rachel as the first female to enter this position at Pondurance, and increasingly optimistic for her future with us.
