We are excited to announce that we’ve hired Nick Sturgeon to lead our growing security operations center (SOC) team. Nick comes to us from the Indiana Office of Technology’s Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IN-ISAC), where he served as the manger for both the IN-ISAC and the State’s SOC. Prior to his work with the Indiana Office of Technology, Nick spent eight years as an Indiana State Police trooper. His last assignment was as First Sergeant and Assistant IT Commander of the department’s IT section.
In his new role at Pondurance, Nick will oversee day-to-day SOC operations, focusing first on enhancing the SOC’s 24/7 coverage capabilities. In addition, he will be responsible for growing the talented SOC team, developing processes to improve efficiency, and building focused career paths for SOC personnel. He and his team will continue to deliver top-caliber threat hunting and incident response services to help clients maintain proactive security programs and address cyber threats as they emerge.
On the future direction of Pondurance’s managed services division, co-founding partner Landon Lewis said, “The growth and talent we are pursuing directly correlate with the success we are having with our threat hunting and response technology platform and service offering. Nick’s security leadership and previous experience building and working in a security operations center align perfectly with our dedication to the evolving needs of our clients.”
In his spare time, Nick holds a part-time online teaching position with the University of Texas at San Antonio aimed at educating government agencies on the importance of information security and sharing. He is eager to make his mark on the private sector as well. “I am honored and humbled to have been given this opportunity,” said Nick. “I am thankful to the partners for having confidence and faith in me to lead Pondurance’s security operations center. I am really excited to be a part of and contribute to the company’s future.”
